Ramblings From The Quest

In my thirst for knowledge,
I jumped and took a peek.
The brightness was magnetic and before I knew,
I'd ventured too deep.

In my thirst for knowledge,
I kept walking ahead.
I knew I was losing direction,
But I needed to clear my head.

In my thirst for knowledge,
I sniffed and followed my instincts.
The more I smelled the facts,
The harder it got to retreat.

In my thirst for knowledge,
I strode past the woods.
And yet, it wasn't enough,
All that I understood.

In my thirst for knowledge,
I knew I had to forget bliss,
For ignorance might be easy
But it wasn't what I'd miss.

In my thirst for knowledge,
I reached the mighty ocean.
I ran and dived unthinking,
I was driven by emotion.

And the whole new world
Took me by surprise.
My thirst wasn't quenched,
it was only magnified!

In my thirst for knowledge,
I forgot to swim.
Deeper and deeper I drowned,
My lungs filled to the brim.

And yet, the pitcher of the mind
Kept yearning for more.
Curiosity kills the cat I'd heard
But now, I know for sure!

The breathless burning did not scare me.
I was just too fascinated.
For I believe there's another shore
Where one day, I'd emerge elated...
