Spillage

Have you ever loved so much?

That your heart is full to the brim
And your soul is overwhelmed
Even words are not enough
To define, to feel, to hold...

That it shrouds you, comforts you
While making you shudder
An invisible protection
A dependable hug, when you're cold.

That overturns your beliefs,
Makes you question your strength
And convinces you
To break free from the lies you were told.

Have you ever loved so much?

That your being can't contain it.
It feels too much for a mortal.
Like a blinding light, a deafening echo
Neither can you take it, nor can you let go!

And then, very often
Like an overflowing vessel
It makes you weep
As if you're hurting down deep.

But lo! Not tears of grief, pain, sorrow.
Not tears of joy, hope nor glee.
Are these even tears?
You may argue.
If not, what else would they be?

Have you ever loved so much?

That it's impossible to be the vessel,
It's impossible to be its host.
And it makes you wonder
Are these tears of love?
Or love itself that overflows?
